ABOUT THE LAB

BUILT ONRIGOR.

Brooklyn Grey Labs was founded on a single premise: the research peptide market deserved better. Better purity standards. Better documentation. Better transparency.

OUR STORY

Why We Started

The peptide research space has a sourcing problem. Compounds are sold with unverified purity claims, no batch documentation, and no accountability. Researchers — whether in formal laboratory settings or independent study — deserve to know exactly what they are working with.

Brooklyn Grey Labs was built to close that gap. We source exclusively from ISO 9001:2015-certified synthesis facilities, require independent third-party HPLC and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) verification on every batch, and make certificates of analysis available on request. Our minimum purity threshold is ≥99.0% by HPLC — batches that do not meet this standard are rejected and never enter inventory.

We are based in Brooklyn, New York. Our catalog spans 30 research compounds across peptide, metabolic, longevity, cognitive, and recovery categories — each with published CAS numbers, molecular weights, and full amino acid sequences where applicable. We do not cut corners.

QUALITY STANDARDS

How We Verify Every Batch

HPLC Analysis

Reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) is run on every batch using a C18 column with UV detection at 214 nm and 280 nm. We require ≥99.0% purity by area normalization as a hard minimum. Batches below this threshold are rejected — not discounted, not sold.

Mass Spectrometry

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) confirms molecular weight to within ±0.5 Da of the theoretical value for each compound. MS confirmation rules out structural isomers, truncated sequences, and oxidation products that HPLC alone cannot distinguish. Both tests are required — neither is optional.

Independent Third-Party Testing

All analytical verification is performed by accredited independent laboratories with no financial relationship to our synthesis partners. We do not accept manufacturer-issued certificates of analysis as the sole documentation. The testing lab is selected by Brooklyn Grey Labs, not by the supplier.

Batch Traceability

Every compound in our catalog is assigned a unique batch identifier traceable to a specific synthesis run, testing date, and analytical report. Certificates of analysis include compound name, CAS number, batch number, HPLC chromatogram, MS spectrum, and purity result. Available on request for any order.

Cold Chain Integrity

Lyophilized peptides are stored at −20°C from receipt through fulfillment in temperature-monitored storage. Compounds requiring −80°C storage (e.g. IGF-1 LR3) are held separately at the appropriate temperature. We do not ship compounds that have experienced a documented temperature excursion.

ISO 9001:2015 Sourcing

We source exclusively from synthesis facilities holding current ISO 9001:2015 certification and operating under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines. Supplier certifications are reviewed annually. No new compound is added to the catalog until the synthesis facility's current ISO certificate has been verified.

SOURCING

Where Our Compounds Come From

We work with a small number of synthesis partners — all ISO 9001:2015-certified, all GMP-compliant. We do not source from brokers, resellers, or intermediaries. Every compound is ordered directly from the synthesizing facility, with full chain-of-custody documentation from synthesis run to fulfillment. Supplier relationships are reviewed annually; any facility that cannot produce a current ISO certificate is removed from our approved list.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Transparency

We publish CAS numbers, molecular weights, amino acid sequences, evidence tiers, and known limitations for every compound in our catalog. Purity data is third-party verified. We do not make claims we cannot document.

Accuracy

We grade evidence honestly: CLINICAL, PRECLINICAL + EARLY CLINICAL, or PRECLINICAL. If human data is limited or preliminary, we say so — on the product page, on the science page, and in every communication.

Accountability

Every batch is traceable to a specific synthesis run and analytical report. If a batch fails our purity threshold, it is rejected. If something is wrong with an order, we fix it. No exceptions.
